LADY WAS A CENTERFOLD

The local rock and roll magazine in Calgary interviewed me about my alter ego, Miss Melncoly. If I knew they were gonna cut & paste my answers I woulda edited and not have included so many run on sentences. Thank’s BEATROUTE you are all sweethearts! Here is a look at where I sleep, the dirt roads I’ve traveled and 5 of my favorite things right now…

BEDROOM EYES PREVIEW

Beatroute Magazine asked me to be next months “Bedroom Eyes” temptress. This image isn’t going to print, but I think its adorable with my furry friend. Out of all the interviews I’ve had this is by far my favorite approach. In true rock and roll fashion the shoot ended at 3:03am and we had a wee bit of a wine buzzzzz. Thank you Beatroute for the love!

OF MONTREAL COLLAB

Melncoly designed a hair necklace for OF MONTREAL‘s False Priest North American / European tour. Here is my dear Ninatwin wearing it at Terminal 5 in New York. The piece is Red & Purple Human hair woven onto silver chain.

OFF THE DEEP END FASHION SHOW/ART EXHIBITION

The event was a splash!

At the end of the show everyone jumped in the pool! Well, not really but it sure tempted me from time 2 time. Like usual I didn’t take any photos of my jewelry on the half nude models. Being backstage and all. If you have any photos of my work over the exquisite lingerie PLEASE EMAIL me at info@melncolydesigns.com !!!

Thank you Parlour magazine for your continued support after all these years! And a special thank you to Alice Sech for your hard work in styling the models!

FOR ARTS SAKE !

I’ve had the privilege to work as an assistant with CREATMOSPHERE (light artists from London)  over the past 3 weeks. I couldn’t have landed a more perfect Summer Job! They are awesome. Not only did I learn so much but I also gained 3 amigos in the end.

We installed 28 data spheres in the lagoon at Princes Island Park. We also launched 500 illuminated spheres down  the Bow River. It was exhausting yet challenging, the weather definitely was not on our side during installation. You can learn more about the project on their River Of Light blog. It truly is one of the best Public Art displays Calgary will ever see!

EXCLUSIVE WEDDING COLLECTION

In late June I had the pleasure to design and produce a wedding collection with silver chain and freshwater pearls. The wedding was an outdoor wedding in Golden BC and the bride wanted very minimal pieces. I made six pieces in total for her sisters and maid of honor. The brides piece can be seen in greater detail here.
