My friend Steven Hope sent me some links to his new music video he finished directing this past weekend. It is for one of my favorite bands called Shout Out Out Out Out. They are going on tour throughout North America and releasing a much anticipated new album. You can check the boys out live at the Warehouse in Calgary on Thursday March 5th. I think they are about to explode, finally!
Back in the summer I wrote a blog about a shoot I did in Drumheller Alberta with MTV2. I am thrilled to announce that a few of the clips are posted online at http://www.vimeo.com/2771796. The commercials have been airing on the MTV2 network over the last few months.
L’Invisible is playing in Calgary from the 17-21 of February at the historic Grand Theater. I cannot wait to see her latest work of art! To find tickets check out the Theater Junction website.
Synopsis – The city of Berlin, ectoplasms (vaporous emanations of the body supposedly visible to mediums) and a literary hoax involving JT Leroy, a writer dreamed up by a woman looking to get published, provide Marie Brassard with ideal metaphorical material for a reflection on art and creation, on the porous boundary between the creator, and the resultant creature.
This new work by Brassard is a theatrical exploration of the double and of otherness, an attempt to harness the mysterious and elusive forms that lurk within us. In collaboration with with the Finnish artist Mikko Hynninen and the composer and sound designer Alexander MacSween, the singular and yet very plural Marie Brassard incarnates minds and the bodies that live therein, making their ghostly voices resonate, rendering the invisible visible.
If you are in Manhattan tomorrow don’t miss this awesome event going on at CAKESHOP. There will be a ton of DIY artists selling their goods including Rad Rox and Retard Riot.
Amongst the mayhem last Friday night at the Factory Party I saw a beautiful green couch with no one sitting on it. After djing two crazy sets I seriously needed to take a rest. I sat down and no one was really around. Then suddenly my old friend Lee and her boyfriend Tyler started snappin pics. I’m not too sure if you remember but Tyler Stalman took a portrait of me a few months ago. Here are some of the pictures from last Friday night.
